A Board
of Directors, consisting of the President,
President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Secretary, Recorder,
and two Members-at-Large manages the affairs of the VWMS.
Board
Members are as follows:
- Dr. Bonnie Campbell

President
Dr. Bonnie Campbell is a small animal soft tissue surgeon. Special
clinical interests include moist wound healing, reconstructive surgery,
wound bandaging techniques, and laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery.
Dr. Campbell's current research investigates the role of trefoil
peptides in protection and repair of the gastrointestinal tract and the
aberrant expression of trefoil peptides in a variety of
carcinomas. Dr. Campbell lectures on wound healing and
reconstructive surgery to veterinary students and in continuing
education programs, and has authored a number of papers in this field.
- Dr. Hank Jann
– President-elect
Dr. Jann is an Associate Professor of equine surgery at Oklahoma State
University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has an ongoing interest
in equine tendon repair, and tendon and wound healing. Dr.
Jann has
published numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters on these
topics; in addition, he has also recently authored a new text on equine
rehabilitation.
- Dr. Bryden Stanley

Dr.
Stanley is Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Small
Animal Clinical Sciences at Michigan State University College of
Veterinary Medicine. Her clinical interests are in upper respiratory
surgery, reconstruction and microvascular surgery. Her research
interests are in wound healing and upper respiratory disease in the dog.
- Dr. Wayne Waguespack ,
DVM, MS,
DACVS -- Treasurer
Dr. Waguespack is a professor of surgery in the Large Animal Teaching
Hospital at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He
received his DVM from Tuskegee University, MS from Auburn University
and completed an internship at University of Georgia.
- Dr.
Eliot Kaplan -- Member-at-large
Dr. Eliot Kaplan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary
Practitioners, certified in canine and feline practice. He graduated
from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in
1984 and did his small animal medicine and surgery internship at the
Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He
is currently an owner of a small animal practice in British
Columbia, Canada.
- Ms. Danielle Browning

Member-at-large
Ms. Browning is a Senior Veterinary Technician who currently works in
the Small Animal Surgery Department at the University
of
Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from
Lincoln Memorial University and became a
licensed Veterinary
Technician in 1999. Danielle has been employed at
the
University of Tennessee since September of 2000 and is the ward nurse
for Soft Tissue Surgery.
